Why did you get a dumbphone?

Just a short post to talk about why you are deciding to seek a simpler life

I am susceptible to just endless doomscrolling on a smartphone. I like the increased level of self dependence with a dumbphone too, means you have to rely on yourself more.

I find I waste far too much time on my smartphone, doing things which add no value to my life. Even though I’ve really reduced my usage of social media, I believe there are still more steps I can take, and moving to a dumbphone was one of these.

I had no interest in smartphones. I finally got one in 2021 specifically for DoorDash/UberEats delivery. It is only turned on for work, turned off immediately when not working. Google has totally corrupted/invaded Android and I no longer use tablets either. No Microsoft or Apple, strictly Linux only. I use my dumbphone for daily use and upgraded from a Nokia 225 to a Cingular Flex2 for wifi and gps which I rarely use anyway.
